All foreign exporters intending to export their product into the Gambia are obliged to abide by the Gambia rules and regulations, ensuring that their product is properly approved for export and sales in the country. We advise against the export of unapproved products into the Gambia. Defaulting and sales of unapproved products will be considered a breach of regulatory law and shall attract a penalty to the exporter. When registering foreign products, certain mandatory requirements must be met to ensure compliance with local regulations. Below is a detailed outline of what is needed for the registration process:
Application Charge: A mandatory application fee for the issuance of the application form is required to be settled by the applicant, which is the foreign exporter/manufacturer. This fee is non-negotiable and is necessary to initiate the registration process.
Conformity Assessment and Registration Tariff Charge: The tariff charge varies based on the type of product being registered.
Product Images: If available, it is required to submit clear pictures of the product. This visual documentation supports the assessment process and helps in verifying the product quality.
Technical Specifications: Detailed technical specifications of the product are required. This information is crucial for the evaluation process.
Proof of Application Charge Payment: The applicant (foreign exporter/manufacturer) must submit proof of payment of the application fee together with the required registration documents and labels. The proof of payment must clearly indicate the name of the applicant.
Warranty Period: Information regarding the warranty period for the product must be provided. This includes how many years of warranty are offered and any conditions that apply to the warranty.
Shelf Life (for Consumable Products): If the product is consumable, details on its shelf life must be included. This should specify how long the product can be stored before use without compromising its quality or safety.

All relevant documents must be submitted in person to our office via a GPQA accredited lawyer. Please note that all payments should be made in cash through the accredited lawyer.
